John F. Lichtig was born in Puerto Rico.  He received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1983 and a Masters in Engineering (Electrical) from Cornell University in 1984. During his employment at Telcordia Technologies’ (formerly Bellcore) EMC Group for 15 years he was responsible for electromagnetic interference systems designs, particularly radio frequency interference suppression, and establishment of RFI immunity and emission standards for telecommunications facilities (e.g., Section 3 (EMI) of GR-1089-CORE, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Electrical Safety – Generic Criteria for Network Telecommunications Equipment).  He is now the principal of Lichtig EMC Consulting, LLC, an organization that provides EMC consultation.  He is a member of ANSI Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) C63 on EMC, past chairman of ANSI ASC C63 Subcommittee 3 – International Standardization, and past chairman of CISPR/I/WG3 – Methods of measurements and limits for radiation and immunity of Information Technology Equipment (Maintenance of CISPR 22 and 24).  Mr. Lichtig is a National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (NARTE) Certified EMC Engineer and a member of Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
